Throughout the month of September, 5th Class have been learning all about Passage West in the past. Pupils explored what the town of Passage West looked like in the 1870's and what local businesses and shops were there at the time. We took a walk to the old Royal Victoria dockyard and the old railway line before taking a closer look at some of the traditional shopfronts. We were amazed to see some of the old-style details that are still visible today.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Jim Murphy from the Maritime Museum in Passage West into our classroom. He spoke about the history of town and it's impressive industrial heritage. We are so lucky to live in a town with such amazing history! A big thank you to Jim for coming in and speaking to us!
